Diary #3- 2nd Development

Dear Diary,

Since my last diary entry a lot has happened. First, many of the famers are being forced off of their lands because of the new enclosure movement. Their homes were to be turned into farming lands to increase our food supply (Human Legacy Textbook pg. 635). Due to the fact that I had inherited my fathers farm, I have not been as affected as the rest of the farmers from this movement. I have bought much more land and my fields are producing a lot more each year because of the new agricultural methods including the seed drill and the cotton jin (Human Legacy Textbook pg. 636). I also invested in Jethro Tull's seed drill and I am able to buy machine made goods with my new wealth hoping that it would make me even more wealthy. Overall, this month has been a major success with all the new improvements in farmings and the new machinery that will change our lives forever.

Diary #6- Final Entry

Dear Diary, Cities are beginning to grow and many people are moving to the cities for better jobs and to escape mistreatment (Human Legacy Textbook pg. 673). The cities populations are increasing greatly. As I said in my first diary, one of my goals is to travel to a city to see how different and more civilized it is. Last week I traveled to one of these cities and I got to see how cleaner and less unorganized it was compared to the farmlands that I live in. They had modernized sewer and water systems, better plumbing, and machines in homes such as a refrigerator. Additionally, due to the large population, they have constructed tall buildings to make room for everyone (Human Legacy Textbook pg. 674). In general, I was very impressed by how different the peoples lives in the cities were compared to my life on the farm and I am hoping that one day I will be able to move to a city.

Diary #1- A Little About Me

Dear Diary, My name is George Smith. I am 11 years old and have been working in the farms since I was 9 years old. I have been educated in a public school since I was 5 years old. I have brown hair and blue eyes. I am taller and stronger than most of my friends who also work on farms. We have to work extremely hard on the farms because our economy is still based on farming (Human Legacy Textbook pg. 632). My parents work on the same farm that I work on but their jobs on the farm are much more difficult due to the fact that they are much older than I am. I have a younger brother and sister who help my parents and I on the farm as well. Even though I love spending time with my family on the farm, it is too much work for me. We are extremely mistreated and have to work long hours which make us tired. Therefore, our work becomes very sloppy (Human Legacy Textbook pg. 633). One of my goals is to get a chance to travel to one of the cities because I am interested in seeing how different an...

Diary #4- 3rd development

Dear Diary, My life has changed a lot since my last entry. Cities are growing and population is increasing which has caused me to produce a lot more goods on my farm. These two aspects have led to a great increase in my wealth. Now that I am considered a wealthy landowner, I have gained a great influence in the local government. It is rare for someone like me who started off as a farmer to become so rich during this revolution. I am building a mansion and many luxurious goods are being made in the factories for it. These goods will not take a while to be made due to the use of mass production in the factories (Human Legacy Textbook pg. 645). I have bought the perfect furniture to increase the standard of living in my home (Human Legacy Textbook pg. 651). Although I am very excited for my new mansion, I am in need for a wife of good standing so that I can pass on my fortune.
